Kevin and I were sitting around on a Friday night wondering what there was to do when suddenly we thought - why not tear out 650 square feet of tile carpet and linoleum?

First we pulled out all the carpet and tack strips, look at that giant mound of dust under it!...well that wasn't so hard we told ourselves...



Then we pulled up all the tile...what a piece of cake, but wait? What is that hard gray stuff that is stuck to the cement?



Oh that? That's just thinset and nothing two jackhammers and 9 hours of chipping, sweat and muscle can't take care of...

Did you know it takes two people to put a T-shirt onto someones head?

Then we noticed we had forgot some tile around the fireplace, off with the tile and soon there after we noticed it wasn't just tile that was coming off. For our Saturday night suprise we get to drywall! I don't have a pic of the fireplace after tearout but you can see it pre tile removal below.
